Crazy Contraptions, a show hosted by Richard Hammond, has been discontinued after only one season.
The former The Grand Tour host, 53, has hosted the Channel 4 show in which teams competed to design innovative machines out of common things.
The series aired for seven episodes last year.
However, the broadcaster has since announced that the show would not air.
‘Richard Hammond’s Crazy Contraptions was a bold and creative programme that engaged audiences with the exciting world of science and engineering,’ a Channel 4 spokesperson said.
‘Our strategy continues to be one that develops new formats and exciting ideas,’ they added when speaking to The Sun.
Explaining the series last year, Hammond said: ‘Two teams are given the same set of rooms and household objects in the same workshops and have to build a chain-reaction machine that will allow me to do something ridiculous, such as feed the dogs in the garden without getting out of bed.’
He added: ‘It’s great to see the different approaches to complex engineering projects and watching people do something they’re passionate about is always compelling.’
The host previously stated that he was motivated to create the series after failing to construct his own chain reaction machine during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
His failed effort taught him to ‘appreciate’ the skill he saw on the show, and he believed it would be a ‘wonderful watch’ for the whole family.
Richard stated shortly before the show’s premiere that his attempt to create his own machine “didn’t end well.”
‘My failed attempt did however make me appreciate the talent, creativity and determination shown by our teams.
‘That said, in amongst the triumphs, there were also plenty of spectacular failures and catastrophes.’
He said he thought the show could not only provide ‘totally left-field entertainment’, but also ‘science and engineering in a fun and accessible manner’.
His admirers will, however, be able to see him on TV again soon, since The Grand Tour stand-alone episode Eurotrash will be published on Prime Video next month.
It will take him and colleagues hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May 1,400 miles across central and eastern Europe, including stops in Slovenia, Hungary, and Slovakia.
Richard Hammond’s Crazy Contraptions is streaming on All4.
