The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey has an unusual method of eating cereal, but we’re not sure how you’ll react to it.
The 19-year-old, who portrays Ellie in the TV adaptation of the popular video game opposite Pedro Pascal, revealed her, ahem, interesting, admission with her co-star.
Bella, who defines as non-binary, was asked about their most recent meal and replied, ‘Mine was cornflakes and bran with dried cherries in… with orange juice on top instead of milk.’
Yes, you heard that right.
Pedro represented all of us and responded: ‘Orange juice?’
‘So good,’ she insisted.
‘There once wasn’t milk I could drink, there wasn’t oat milk or almond milk, so I just tried orange juice on it. Years ago! And I loved it. And it’s been a thing ever since.’
Although Bella stands by the controversial combo, it’s fair to say that fans weren’t sold.
‘Bella sweetie i have absolutely nothing against you but.. wtf IS this looks like watery vomit,’ one person tweeted.
‘Bella, I cannot defend you for this,’ another added.
A third replied: ‘As someone who tried it my stomach started BURNING idk how anyone can eat it.’
The teen recently celebrated International Transgender Day of Visibility by posting an old picture on social media.
ack photo on social media.
‘Happy TDOV to this little dude!,’ they wrote.
‘I didn’t know the word non-binary in this picture. But I knew what it meant. Inherently.
‘Because I always was, and always will be. Lotsa love to all of my trans, enby and gender funky friends.’
Earlier this year Bella told The New York Times that their gender had always been ‘very fluid’.
‘I’m very much just a person,’ they said. ‘Being gendered isn’t something that I particularly like, but in terms of pronouns, I really couldn’t care less.’
Craig Mazin, the director, spoke about the significance of Ellie’s sexual orientation being acknowledged in the TV series ahead of its release.
The series showed that she was in love with her best friend Riley, portrayed by Storm Reid, just like in the video game.
‘It’s not a spoiler – Ellie’s a lesbian,’ he said.
‘That’s just the way it is.’
The Last of Us is available to watch on Sky and NOW.
