Maddy Smedley, the breakout star of The Traitors, has hinted that she may be back on our screens soon for another project.
After garnering a large number of admirers for her portrayal as Wildfred Webster on the BBC series, there has been much speculation that she may pursue a career in MI5, but she has opted to focus on her acting.
Maddy previously appeared in two soap operas, as she revealed on the show.
‘I played Rita in EastEnders, a homeless woman, and also I played someone without a womb in Casualty,’ she told her fellow contestants.
She’s currently looking for her next part, which she says has been a long time coming.
‘Just had my first in person audition I’ve had in about 5 years, aghhhh screaming crying throwing up rn [right now],’ she shared on Twitter.
She added: ‘Everyone pray!’
Her article was instantly swamped with positive comments, including some double-checking to ensure Maddy included her previous audition experience.
‘I hope they know you were in EastEnders and Casualty,’ one fan wrote, to which Maddy replied that she hadn’t forgotten.
Others wished her the ‘best of luck,’ while others laughed and questioned whether she was going to act in ‘Homeless Woman the Movie,’ which would see her return to EastEnders as Rita for round two.
Rayan Rachedi, a Faithful on The Traitors, also chimed in, saying that ‘throwing up is my bit,’ but that he’d be prepared to share the ‘community bucket’ to aid with the anxiety.
Maddy gave the public what they wanted immediately after being expelled from The Traitors, sharing some comedic skits she produced in lockdown online.
In the skits, she pretended to be a contact centre employee attempting to sell things, only to be faced with some fairly hostile potential clients who weren’t hesitant to use foul language.
While we wish her well, there is still hope that Miss Maddy Marple may join an intelligence organisation in the future.
The Traitors is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
