Max George, the Wanted singer, admitted that he lied to get a spot on this year’s Celebrity MasterChef.
The 34-year-old artist joins former Strictly Come Dancing partner Dianne Buswell, Love Island contestant Luca Bish, and superstar Jamelia in this year’s line-up.
However, the All Time Low singer inflated his cooking abilities prior to his tenure.
‘I guess I was one of the late entrants,’ Max revealed to Christine Lampard on Monday’s Lorraine. I said on the form that I cooked four evenings each week at home.
‘I haven’t had a kitchen for over a year because I’m renovating so I’ve literally been.. sort of takeouts.
‘I probably don’t cook at home four times a month, but I got in so it was a really cool experience!’
However, we’ll have to wait and see how he does on the show. Max admitted that his girlfriend Maisie Smith was his worst critic.
When Christine asked Max what the former EastEnders actress thought of his meal, he said, ‘She’d say average if she was honest. She’s harsh’
The four competitors were reduced to two on Friday’s quarter final night, with Marcus Brigstocke and Mica Ven advancing, while Love Island star Dani Dyer and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley were eliminated.
Tonight, the foursome continued to impress three previous show stars: Angelica Bell, Danny Jones, and Lisa Snowdon.
And now, judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace had a tough choice to make as they narrowed the field from four to two for the forthcoming semi-finals.
Unfortunately, it was Love Island’s Dani Dyer, 26, and Inbetweeners’ James, 35, who got the axe and will no longer be competing.
‘I definitely feel like I’ve walked in one person and come out another.’ Dani said of their dismissal. ‘It’s great, I’m happy. It’s been a really good time.’
James, on the other hand, acknowledged he was ‘gutted’ to be eliminated from the race.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am and Celebrity MasterChef returns at 9pm on BBC One.
