It was a Christmas cast party to remember for the Gogglebox stars, who finally got to meet series narrator Craig Cash after all these years.
The British actor and comedian, 63, already has an impressive resume and is considered comic royalty in the UK, having participated in a number of critically praised programmes.
He rose to prominence as Malcolm Merton on The Mrs. Merton Show, before appearing in classic comedies The Royle Family and Early Doors.
Surprisingly, despite taking up the narrator job in 2016, it appears that this Christmas dinner was Craig’s first opportunity to meet the regular cast members.
Izzi Warner, who joined Gogglebox a year before Craig, posted images on Instagram when over a dozen programme regulars appeared.
She took selfies with Stephen Lustig-Webb and posed for photobooth shots with numerous other cast members to commemorate the show’s tenth anniversary.
As the stars of the programme crowded into the fancy location, Simon Minty and Lee Riley made cameos in the photos.
In her caption, Izzi wrote: ‘Well, when we’ve waited 10 years for a cast party you’d better make sure it’s a good one! Team Gogglebox didn’t disappoint!’
Izzi’s fans voiced their envy at not being able to attend the party, while others remembered Gogglebox cast members who couldn’t go.
‘Let’s raise a glass to those who blessed our screens but sadly no longer with us: Leon, June, Mary, Andy, Caroline Aherne, Dave the Dog,’ one user commented.
Craig’s appearance at the party did not go unnoticed, with a handful of Gogglebox fans recognising him from his past appearances.
The Early Doors star took up the job seven years ago, following the loss of original narrator and Craig’s former co-star Caroline Aherne, who died at the age of 52.
Marcus Luther, a regular Gogglebox face, explained last month why his renowned son, Shiloh Defreitas, aka Sugar Shy, never appeared on the show.
After joining his TV father for some ‘preamble’ ahead of one broadcast, the professional boxer thought it might be preferable to stay at the boxing gym after all.
Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
