While Big Brother returned on Sunday night, The Reckoning, a new Jimmy Savile BBC drama, premieres on Monday night.
The four-part series, starring Steve Coogan, is billed as a “factual drama examining the crimes of Jimmy Savile,” featuring evidence from his survivors.
Savile died in 2011 at the age of 84, little under a year before his multiple sexual offences were disclosed as part of Operation Yewtree, in which police interviewed hundreds of victims.
Others will turn to ITV2 to see the second episode of Big Brother’s comeback series, which begins at 9 p.m. on BBC One.
Last night, 16 participants entered the house, greeted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, for the first season of the reality show since 2018.
When Channel 4 produced the spin-off series Celebrity Big Brother, Savile made a brief cameo. What occurred when he walked into the house?
When was Jimmy Savile on Big Brother?

Jimmy Savile initially appeared on Celebrity Big Brother during the fourth season, which aired during the first and last weeks of January 2006.
The show is primarily remembered for sparking the career of Chantelle Houghton, who joined the house as the lone non-celebrity.
Her mission was to persuade the other roommates that she was, in fact, a star – and she did become a famous after the series.
The season was particularly memorable for an incident in which candidate George Galloway, at the time an MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, claimed to be a cat.
On Day 10 of the season, Savile entered the Big Brother house and presented himself to the housemates while wearing his distinctive tracksuit and red spectacles.
What happened when Jimmy Savile was on Big Brother?

Jimmy Savile was dispatched into the house with the aim of ‘fixing it’ for various housemates and providing them with presents, in allusion to his iconic BBC show Jim’ll Fix It.
Michael Barrymore, Pete Burns, and model Jodie Marsh were among the housemates that year, as were singer Preston and actress Rula Lenska.
Pete Burns received a note from his partner at home after Jim ‘fixed it,’ and basketball player Dennis Rodman won a pampering package.
In addition to giving out presents, Savile made many improper remarks to the ladies who were there at the time.
He informed eventual winner Chantelle that he would love her with’sincerity and affection’ and promised to marry each lady present ‘for at least 24 hours’.
Later in his brief tenure, he cryptically told the other housemates that he had previously “been in the slammer (prison),” but did not explain why.
