Viewers turned in to the Monday morning broadcast of This Morning expecting to see Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as normal.
However, Holly was not there, with former The Saturdays singer and Hit List broadcaster Rochelle Humes standing in.
Holly, 42, said on Instagram on Sunday that she might not be seen on the sofa with Phillip, 61, ‘for the rest of the week’.
Holly has been absent from This Morning after taking time off for Easter to spend with her husband and children.
Why is Holly Willoughby missing from This Morning?
Holly confirmed she will be away from This Morning ‘for a week’ due to shingles in an Instagram post late Sunday afternoon.
The statement said: ‘Hi. Just to let you know I may be away for the rest of the week as I have shingles. I’ll be back as soon as I’m better. Huge love, Holly.’
What is shingles?
Shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash. The rash can appear either on the person’s face, shoulders, chest, or torso.
Before the rash appears, the suffer can experience pain, itching, or tingling in the area the rash will develop.
These sensations may occur some days before the rash appears.
Other symptoms include:
- Fever
- Headache
- Chills
- Upset stomach
When will Holly Willoughby return to This Morning?
Holly Willoughby has stated that she would return to This Morning next week, once she has recovered from shingles.
However, it can take seven to ten days for the shingles rashes to scab over and begin to heal, and it might take up to a month for the shingles rashes to completely cure.
Whatever time she returns, we wish Holly a fast recovery and hope to see her on This Morning soon.
This Morning is available to watch on ITV1 and ITV Hub.
