Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) in Happy Valley is in danger now that she knows criminal Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) is hiding out in a safe house.
When Rob Hepworth (Mark Stanley) goes to the police to report the death of his wife Joanna (Mollie Winnard), Catherine immediately suspects him.
We all know that Faisal (Amit Shah), a crooked pharmacist, murdered Joanna by giving her a deadly dosage of ketamine after a heated fight, then stowing her body away in a bag.
Meanwhile, Tommy has successfully escaped Leeds, and Catherine, Clare (Siobhan Finneran), and Neil (Con O’Neill) are staying at a friend’s house to get (hopefully) out of harm’s way.
While Ryan (Rhys Connah) has learnt more about his father’s wicked deeds, he still seems unwilling to think his father is a monster, exploring the notion of fleeing to Spain with him.
It was a tense episode, and it became obvious that nobody is secure. After viewing episode 5 of Season 3 of Happy Valley, these are our many unanswered questions.
Will Rob get charged with Joanna’s murder?

Rob did the right thing by reporting her murder to the authorities after discovering her dead in a bag.
Catherine had earlier tried to get Joanna to go with him to a shelter because of his history of controlling and violent behaviour against her, making him the leading suspect.
The true killer, Faisal, has no known connection to Joanna, but one investigator is determined to find her drug supplier.
Is Faisal beginning to crack and will he come clean?

Faisal killed Joanna in a fit of wrath and violence, then tried to conceal his tracks since he knew the police would eventually arrest Rob.
It was when Faisal’s wife and kids were eavesdropping on the noise and correctly guessed that there was a dead corpse in the Hepworth home that he finally lost it.
Will the drug dealer pharmacist be able to cope with the mounting pressure and impending investigation?
Will Tommy go through with his plot to kill Catherine?

According to all appearances, Tommy takes great pleasure in torturing Catherine and bringing misery to her and those close to her.
After evading capture in court, he was picked up by criminal mastermind Darius Knezevic (Alec Secareanu), and it was then that he admitted his intention to kill Catherine.
Darius declined to give him a gun, claiming that he couldn’t stop Tommy from killing the sergeant even though he firmly advised him not to. Can we count on Tommy’s attention?
Will Ryan run away with Tommy?

It’s possible that Tommy stumbled (for once) upon the ideal conditions in which to secretly whisk Ryan away to Marbella.
After hearing the truth from Ann (Charlie Murphy), the youngster felt “unwanted” after learning that his mother and Tommy lied to him, and Catherine did not reciprocate Ryan’s declaration of love.
Tommy, still in the safe home, spoke with Ryan over a video game console about his plans to go to Spain, and Ryan said he’d give it some thought. Will he accept to leave considering how vulnerable he is and how much his family has abandoned him?
Happy Valley continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
