Louise Thompson defended partner Ryan Libbey when fans expressed worry about a remark.
The 33-year-old routinely updates her admirers on her daily life via Instagram stories, and she said that Ryan, also 33, had attached a message to a chocolate bar.
After returning from the toilet, the former Made In Chelsea star found her sweet treat had gained a warning message. Ryan had written in bold black capital letters: ‘This is not allowed. Think about your gut/butt.’
The message had the anticipated effect since, despite leaving the bar alone, she walked off and unwrapped a caramel wafer biscuit chocolate.
One of her followers was concerned about the letter’s contents and chose to contact Louise personally via private chat.
They wrote: ‘I love you guys. This feels really toxic though.’
However, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam Thompson stated that the orange post-it note had a legitimate rationale.
‘FYI he’s referring to my butt because I have horrendous butt problems with my inflammatory bowel disease. We stopped caring about the shape of my butt a long time ago,’ she wrote and added three crying laughing emojis.
Louise discussed her ulcerative colitis diagnosis earlier this month. The disorder affects one in every 227 individuals in the UK and happens when the colon and rectum become inflamed, causing bowel motions to be disrupted as well as belly pain and bleeding.
Sharing how she first became concerned about her health, Louise said: ‘I became worried when I noticed quite a lot of blood in my poo that came out of nowhere.
‘I didn’t know much about inflammatory bowel diseases but my main concern was the fact that a few of my close family members had suffered with aggressive bowel cancer.’
She continued: ‘I thought that my symptoms might go away over time (given that I’d never struggled my health before, in fact, quite the opposite, I’d been the poster girl for health) so I left things for a month or so but when my symptoms didn’t get better I told members of my family.
‘I was diagnosed via a colonoscopy and luckily I got treated with medication that worked fairly quickly to put me into remission.’
Louise informed her fans earlier today that she is always watching her weight owing to the disease.
‘For me weighing myself isn’t about control, it’s about making sure I’m healthy. With my inflammatory bowel disease, I like to make sure I don’t experience any sudden drops in weight.’
Louise and fitness trainer Ryan started dating in 2016, and they got engaged two years later on a trip to Los Angeles.
The pair has been through some difficult moments in their relationship, including a six-month silence when Louise suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the delivery of their son Leo in November 2021.
‘Ryan and I didn’t have proper conversations for months and months after the trauma of having Leo,’ she honestly admitted.
‘We didn’t talk at all. Very limited talking for the first 6 months of his life.
‘It was a mutual paralysis. Things were so dire, we couldn’t even register how weird this behaviour was. It’s only on reflection that I recognise how strange it is,’ she recalled.
