James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, has unveiled 10 new projects that are in the works, promising a more “united” future for DC.
Gunn, in the course of revealing the first portion of the DC content strategy, revealed a number of projects that fans have been anticipating for quite some time, including Shazam! The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Fury of the Gods are some of the recent DC animated features.
He then went on to detail subsequent initiatives, outlining what DC studios will look like over the course of the next eight to ten years in terms of game, film, and television production.
Gunn disclosed 10 titles that will be included in the first section of the plan, which he referred to as the “Gods and Monsters” section.
The first project that Gunn mentioned was the animated series Creature Commandos, and then he moved on to talking about the show Waller, in which Viola Davis will portray the title role of Amanda Waller.
The third entry on the list, which Gunn presented as “the actual beginning of the DCU,” was the announcement that the film Superman: Legacy will be released in the year 2025.

He then went on to reveal the HBO series Lanterns, the film The Authority, the television series Paradise Lost, which is the site where Wonder Woman was born, and The Brave and the Bold, which was the series that brought Batman into the DC Universe.
The narrative of Damien Wayne will be followed by the television series Booster Gold, which Gunn has characterised as “the superhero story of impostor syndrome.” Booster Gold will begin airing in 2018.
He then went on to talk about the subsequent picture in the plan, which was titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and after that, he discussed Swamp Thing, which he described as a “dark horror narrative and the genesis of the creature that is Swamp Thing.”

He elsewhere spoke about DC being ‘disconnected’ from film and television, saying the plan going forward would be for characters to be ‘consistent, played by the same actors, and it works within one story’.
Ahead of announcing the plan, Gunn said in a press conference, according to Variety: ‘The history of DC is pretty messed up, it was f**ked up’.
He continued: ‘No one was minding the mint, they were just giving away the IP like they were party favors to any creators that smiled at them’.
‘One of our strategies is to take our diamond characters — which is Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman — and we use them to prop up other characters that people don’t know,’ he elsewhere told publications.
Co-CEO Peter Safran added: ‘To build those lesser known properties into the diamond properties of tomorrow.’
