A Wallace and Gromit villain is slated to return in a forthcoming film after more than 30 years away from the screen!
But who is the villain? Only Feathers, McGraw!
McGraw is the wicked penguin that first appears in the 1993 Wallace and Gromit Bafta and Oscar-winning short film The Wrong Trousers, which has a perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
After 30 years, the character will return to play a big role in the upcoming film Vengeance Most Fowl.
The preview for the upcoming film depicted the penguin’s effects being placed on a prison tray before entering a cell and cracking his neck.
The film will follow Wallace’s new “smart gnome” invention, which appears to have a mind of its own – how ominous!
The issue, however, is most likely related to the diabolical criminal mastermind, given his previous screen appearance.
In the 1990s picture, the penguin was a wanted criminal disguised as a chicken wearing a red rubber glove on his head.
He moves in with the main protagonists and utilises Gromit is techno pants to steal a diamond.
The powerful canine and human team helped to stop the penguin’s heist attempts, and the two witnessed the iconic criminal being imprisoned in a zoo for his misdeeds.
Nick Park, the Wallace And Gromit creator and director of the forthcoming 70-minute feature, provided some details about the plot.
‘I’d had the idea of a film about garden gnomes turning bad for more than a decade, but I could never work out what made them bad,’ he said.
‘It occurred to me that the single most asked question I get when I meet fans is, will the penguin Feathers McGraw, Wallace and Gromit’s original antagonist from The Wrong Trousers 30 years ago, ever return?
‘We’ve had fun bringing him back in cameo capacities but now, three decades on, it felt like the right time.
‘Then it hit me: What if Feathers was involved with these gnomes? We’re hoping that this film will appeal to fans of Gnome Noir everywhere and that people will be gratified when they see what Feathers has been up to since The Wrong Trousers.’
Charlotte Moore, the BBC’s chief programming officer, added that the film, which will be published at the end of the year, will be “unmissable.”
‘This new feature-length Wallace And Gromit film will captivate audiences of all ages this Christmas on the BBC, as the longed-for return of Feathers McGraw and some ingenious inventions including a smart gnome make for an unmissable adventure showcasing British creativity at its best,’ she said.
The film will be shown on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas season in the UK and on Netflix outside of the UK.
