The upcoming instalment in the Bad Boys franchise, titled Bad Boys 4, has been announced by both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, and there has never been a time when anticipation has been higher.
It’s been three years since we’ve seen Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett on the big screen, but the legendary actors from Hollywood have revealed that they’ll be back to fight crime again.
Will was seen in a video driving himself to his friend’s house while dropping hints about a bombshell in the video, which was uploaded on both of their own Instagram sites.
‘Yo! I’ve got an announcement. Y’all better stop scrolling, seriously,’ the 54-year-old yelled.
‘Let me give y’all a hint,’ he said before playing Shake Ya Tailfeather – from the soundtrack to Bad Boys 2 played out.
‘I wish I was you, not knowing what I’m about to show me,’ he added.

‘It’s official y’all! Bad Boys for Life. FOUR,’ they screamed to the camera, while arguing over the title.

Chris Bremner is in charge of the writing for the upcoming fourth instalment of the Bad Boys film franchise, which is officially in the early stages of pre-production. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be returning to helm the action in the film.
Will is one of the producers on the film along with Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman. Martin is one of the executive producers on the film together with James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone.
There is not much more that is known about the forthcoming instalment, which comes after the third movie amassed an incredible total of $426 million throughout the world at the box office.
After Mike (Will) was hurt, the episode put Marcus’ (Matthew) and Will’s (Will) strong friendship to the test, and it very nearly ended with one of the characters being written off of the show entirely.
Yes, seriously.
In the movie, Isabel Aretas shoots her son Armando inadvertently when the latter discovers that Mike is his biological father. Isabel had intended to shoot the law enforcement officer but instead hit Armando.
‘We didn’t know how to wrap it up necessarily. So that’s why we had to try multiple versions. We did a lot of different versions,’ director Adil told Digital Spy.
‘One of the potential endings, which ended up being a favourite among the pair, saw Isabel kill herself while trying to murder Mike.
‘When she sees that all is lost, she wants to jump into the fire willingly, and she wants to take Mike Lowrey with her. Because she thinks the son is dead, so let’s all die together.
‘That was a version that was pretty epic and pretty Greek tragedy. It was too much, maybe [but] we’ll never know.’
