Most of us enjoy travelling, but flying from point A to point B in a metal cabin 36,000 feet in the air? Not at all.
From delays to obnoxious seat neighbours, we’ve all had miserable travels around the world – but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for cabin staff either.
One flight attendant inquired of her coworkers about their pet peeves when interacting with passengers during their shift, and their replies were eye-opening.
Jay Roberts, a former Emirates senior cabin crew member, asked fellow flight attendants on his Facebook group – A Fly Guy’s Crew Network – what grinds their gears.
Those who don’t say hello when they’re greeted when boarding, those who use the restroom just as they’re being served meals, and carrying all the heaped trash together at the conclusion of the trip were among the most irritating.
Some of the concerns included ‘passengers who insist on informing me their seat number during boarding’, meanwhile another wrote: ‘I loathe it when they tap or touch me to grab my attention’.
Another commented, ‘When people line up to get off as soon as the plane touches down,’ while a colleague flight attendant added, ‘When someone opens the overhead bin during the flight to take something out and doesn’t close it’.
Parents onboard can also exhibit unfavourable behaviours such as ‘changing nappies then handing me their bio-hazard diapers [nappies]’.
Other heinous behaviours included going to the bathroom barefoot and conversing with cabin workers while eating.
Some things to consider about the next time you fly.
