Former Britain’s Got Talent star Stavros Flatley has been hired by A Place in the Sun to tour one of the crew around the island of Cyprus.
Demetrios and Michalakis ‘Lagi’ Andreas, a British-Greek Cypriot father-son dance pair, came to the BGT stage in 2009 and quickly gained a popular following for their River Dance-inspired Mediterranean performances.
They made it to the final, placing fourth behind Diversity, Susan Boyle, and Julian Smith.
While we’ve received reports from the couple over the years, Demi will now appear in an epic TV crossover on a forthcoming episode of A Place in the Sun.
This week, presenter Ben Hillman shared the happy news on social media.
‘It’s not every day you get to meet your idols, but today was one of them,’ he wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of himself posing next to Demi, who had pulled up his shirt to show off his Cyprus tattoo.
‘What a laugh we had with Demi aka Stavros Flatley at Octopus Water Sports.
‘We even got to learn a few of those infamous dance moves!!!
He added: ‘This’ll definitely be an episode to watch out for.’
Although we’re used to seeing Ben assist people locate their dream homes, this episode appears to be a departure.
Leah Charles-King, another A Place in the Sun presenter, voiced disappointment that she couldn’t join him on this journey.
‘I am so JELL!!!!! Stavros Flatley are legends!!!!,’ she commented on the post.
Ben also teased some new information about the upcoming season of the long-running property program, which first aired in 2000.
He noted that there were ‘plenty of reasons to adore May,’ including not only the start of summer, Eurovision season, and three bank holiday weekends coming, but also new episodes of his programme.
‘Now in its incredible 23rd year, there’s still a huge appetite for many British house hunters searching for the perfect overseas property,’ he added.
‘To kick-start the property search and new season, I will be helping Candy and Mark who are looking for a home in the beautiful Spanish countryside of inland Almeria.’
He explained that the pair met two years ago and that, with retirement on the horizon, he would be “pulling out all the stops” to locate them the ideal spot in the sun.
Britain’s Got Talent returns later this year on ITV.
A Place in the Sun is streaming on All4.
