Giovanni Pernice, a professional on Strictly Come Dancing, has spoken candidly about his love life and acknowledged that it might be “almost impossible” for a dancer to find love.
The 32-year-old Italian dancer has participated in the BBC One competition since 2015. She and EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis won the glitterball trophy in 2021 and later won a Bafta TV award for their amazing silent dance.
In a recent interview, Giovanni confessed it’s challenging to juggle romance with his work. Over the years, his life in the limelight has left many admirers wondering about his relationship status.
In response to a question from Spencer Matthews on his Big Fish podcast, Giovanni acknowledged that having a relationship is “really difficult” given how much time he spends working.
He said: ‘When you’re in competition, it’s either you’re in a relationship with your partner, because you spend most of your time with your partner, literally 24/7, and you travel with your partner.
‘Or you’re just single and enjoy your time around when you can.

‘It’s impossible sometimes, but that’s the reason why most of the dance couples are together, because it’s either this or nothing.
‘And they stop dancing, and they break up straight away, so it’s a conventional relationship.’
He added, that dancing puts a ‘lot of pressure’ on his ability to have a ‘normal’ relationship.
However, Giovanni acknowledged that nothing could ‘at the moment’ halt his career path, even if the ‘ideal’ lady entered his life.
He added: ‘I do believe that behind a big man there is an even bigger woman, which means that if a woman understands what I want and what I want to achieve then she will be the right one.’
This comes following reports that Giovanni was romantically involved with people including Maura Higgins, Jess Wright, Ashley Roberts, and Jowita Pryzstal.
When discussing romance with Anton Du Beke earlier this year, Giovanni made it known that he was open to having kids in the future.
‘My mum asks me questions constantly, “Giovanni what is the situation?”’, Giovanni told Anton.
He continued: ‘Because every time I date a girl I always tell her and say “What do you think about this? What do you think about her?”
‘She always asks, “Is she The One. You know I want a baby before I pass away?”. Of course, I want a family one day. You just have to find the right person first.’
The famous pro insisted he was interested in meeting his match but was focused on his career first: ‘There is a fine line about wanting to be in a relationship and be with somebody because you get lonely.’
