Big Brother viewers have pledged to “get Jenkin out” after labelling his attitude towards other residents as “cruel.”
The 26-year-old, who spent his birthday in the house last week, began his Big Brother adventure as a fan favourite, with fans enjoying his snarky comments and amusing reactions to tasks and punishments.
However, he has plummeted in many people’s ranks over the previous four weeks, with fans now clamouring for his ouster owing to his treatment of fan favourite Yinrun.
On Sunday night, viewers were able to catch up on all of the weekend shenanigans from the house, including the Hunger Games job.
Housemates were divided into two ‘districts’ and had to complete a series of physical tasks in order for one of them to gain immunity, while another was placed up for elimination before nominations.
Jenkin’s birthday wasn’t so pleasant because he was voted to be up for eviction this week, although Chanelle had lots of reasons to rejoice because she is now exempt.
However, things became heated when Yinrun disclosed her reasons for wanting Jenkin to face a public vote.
Yinrun, who had previously lamented over feeling ‘forgotten’ in the family, said that Jenkin had been neglecting her.
‘I always want to try to talk to you but, a lot of the time, I get a greeting and a walk away,’ she told him through tears.
‘I’m really sorry that you’ve felt like that,’ Jenkin responded.
Yinrun sobbed even more, and Jenkin soothed her, ‘It’s all right.’
Yinrun’s devastating confession came only days after she put herself up for eviction on Friday, despite never getting a single nomination from her other roommates.
‘I want to be up because I am not part of this show,’ she said, breaking hearts everywhere.
‘I take this as an opportunity to me.’
‘Yinrun, I want to say, you’re not minor in the house,’ Olivia told her. ‘No one forgets about you ever. That’s horrible to hear you say and I hope that I’ve never made you feel that way because I love having you in the house.’
Big Brother viewers vented their wrath after learning that Jenkin was the one who was making Yinrun feel alone and unrecognised.
‘I need Jenkin to pay for his cruel behaviour towards our Yinrun’, one person tweeted ahead of eviction night.
‘JENKIN WAS THE ONE IGNORING YINRUN?? GET HIM OUT RN’, blasted another.
‘Yinrun crying because of Jenkin omg evict him’, another agreed.
Praising Yinrun, another said: ‘Yinrun overcoming her nomination fears and telling Jenkin how it is. We are proud’.
Will Jenkin get the comeuppance many viewers are demanding? Time will tell…
Big Brother continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
