While strolling the red carpet at the Pride of Britain awards on Sunday night, Bridgerton actress Adjoa Andoh gave fans a significant indication about season three’s main character narrative.
The 60-year-old actress looked gorgeous as she posed for photos ahead of the annual event in London’s Grosvenor House honouring people and their extraordinary achievements.
She discussed her role as Lady Danbury in the popular Netflix series, saying she was ‘grateful’ to be a part of such an influential production.
During an interview with Metro.co.uk, the actress revealed what fans may anticipate and announced that the second installment will be released next year.
‘Penelope [Featherington] has been a wallflower for two seasons and it’s time for Penelope to have her time in the spotlight,’ she teased, referring to Nicola Coughlan‘s character.
‘For those of us who have been wallflowers in our lives we can all relate to that moment where it’s like, “Hello” and she’s getting her moment now so I think that will be the main thing – Penelope and Colin – it’s nice for good people to have good things happen to them.
‘There’s definitely that to look forward to and there’s lots of other things – Lady Danbury and the Queen Charlotte and we’ll all be having our intrigues and plotting and trying to fix the world as we want it to be.
‘There’ll be more of that, there’ll be more frocks, there’ll be more, “How’s our father”, more fabulous locations and the Bridge-verse will continue!’
She went on to explain why it was such a unique thing to be affiliated with, as well as how global Bridgerton‘s fan base truly was.
‘I’ve just come back from Ghana where my dad’s from and Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte are huge in Ghana,’ Adjoa exclaimed.
The actress continued: ‘I was in America earlier this year, it’s massive there, I was in Cambodia – massive there, so you can go anywhere and the show has made an impact.
‘It’s been an impact that’s positive, joyful and exciting and I can’t think of anything nicer to do than be associated with something that’s giving people that much joy all around the world – I feel grateful.’
Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix.
