Coleen Rooney has released the first trailer for her upcoming Wagatha Christie documentary on Disney+, but not everyone is delighted.
The mother-of-four, who is married to Manchester United great Wayne Rooney, is expected to tell her own version of how she became an amateur web detective in order to figure out why intimate tales about her and her family kept appearing in the news.
The new House of Mouse series will delve into the circumstances surrounding her infamous social media post in which she claimed to have carried out a months-long’sting operation’ before accusing Rebekah Vardy, the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy, of leaking ‘false stories’ about her private life to the press.
In a high-profile trial last summer, Rebekah, 40, lost a libel suit against Coleen over the post when a High Court judge ruled it was “substantially true.”
The documentary’s first complete teaser has already been unveiled, and she has promised that additional details will be revealed next week.
She wrote alongside the video: ‘Its…time for my account. Think you’ve heard it all? I’ll be telling my truth in a three-part documentary-series, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story. Streaming, Wednesday 18th October on Disney+.’
While several of her followers have stated that they ‘can’t wait’ to meet her, many others appear to be fed up with the entire thing and ready to move on.
‘What a load of rubbish,’ one follower commented, while a second person insisted they simply ‘don’t care’.
‘Move on, we’re all bored to death of it now,’ someone else urged, as another added: ‘Scraping the barrel of entertainment here. 🤦🏼♂️’
A different person sarcastically asked: ‘Really? Do we need to know?’
Coleen argues in the trailer that the statement she gave at the time were her words, and she ‘sticks by them,’ adding that she felt she ‘had to build a trap’ to figure out how reports were getting to the press.
‘I’d never imagined being in a legal battle,’ she said, and it looks the documentary will also examine how the incident affected her mental health.
‘It was just constantly on my mind,’ she said.
Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story is coming to Disney+ on October 18.
