The Mandalorian returns for season 3 on Disney Plus in just a few weeks, and fans can’t wait to see the titular character Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu – nicknamed Baby Yoda – back in action.
The Star Wars series has released the first official trailer, which shows the adoptive father-and-child combo reuniting with an old buddy.
In new show footage, Mando and Grogu meet paths with Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), who has been working with Din since his bounty hunting days.
Din and the Child were separated at the close of The Mandalorian’s second season when Jedi Master Luke Skywalker took Grogu with him to learn in the ways of the Force.
Anyone who has seen the spin-off The Book of Boba Fett will know that the couple at the centre of the narrative has subsequently been reunited.
But their adventure is far from over, as Mando’s choice to remove his helmet has resulted in his being labelled an outcast by his religious group.
Furthermore, Din’s fight with Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) in The Mandalorian’s second season ended in him winning the Darksaber, which means he theoretically inherited the throne of Mandalore, the Mandalorians’ homeworld.
Greef tells Din in a new clip from Season 3: ‘Now, as I was saying, there’s a magnificent piece available right down here near the flats.’
Mando says that, while he appreciates Greef’s offer, he has “some affairs to attend to,” while Grogu spins around on a chair.
‘I’m confused. I thought you had completed your mission, but you’re still running around here with the same little critter,’ Greef remarks.
‘It’s complicated,’ Din replies, as he stops Grogu from twirling on his seat.
Mando describes how, after completing his ‘mission’ to join Grogu with a Jedi so that he may be trained in the ways of the Force, the Child found his way back to him.
Furthermore, he became a ‘apostate’ after deciding to remove his helmet, which was against the rules of his Mandalorian sect.
Grogu notices Tic Tac-looking snacks on the table as Din and Greef are discussing… And, as fans will know, when Baby Yoda spies a nice food, he isn’t one to let it slide through his fingers.
Grogu summons one of the sweeties as Greef emphasises to Din that if he stays with him, he would be ‘landed gentry’ rather than living as an apostate.
There’s no doubt about it: the cutest creature in the universe can always get away with misbehaving.
The Mandalorian is available to watch on Disney Plus, with season 3 premiering on Wednesday March 1.
