Tommy Lee Royce, despite being phoneless and in hiding, has been able to get in touch with his son Ryan Cawood ahead of Sunday’s season finale of Happy Valley.
Tommy (James Norton) escaped from police custody, was picked up by Darius Knezevic (Alec Secareanu), and ultimately confirmed to him and his partner, Ryan (Sarah Lancashire), that he would be killing Catherine (James Norton) (Rhys Connah).
Ryan, Siobhan Finneran, and Con O’Neill’s Neil are presently hiding out in Nevison Gallagher’s house while Catherine searches for Tommy.
Although Ryan couldn’t recall giving his dad his gamer ID, Tommy was able to get in touch with him through his system.
How then did Tommy ultimately locate Ryan? Maybe the fact that Ryan can’t recall giving his gamer name is a dead give-away.

Fans have always speculated that Neil is Tommy’s biological father; now they believe he helped Tommy and Ryan flee to Spain.
‘I bet Neil gave Tommy Ryan’s gaming handle. Im convinced he has more to do with it,’ wrote one viewer, while another agreed: ‘Might Tommy have been able to contact Ryan via the game cos it was Neil who shared his ID..? Ryan didn’t recall sharing that info with him…’
In light of his very little role in the most recent episode, many more viewers have begun to view Neil with suspicion.
‘Also Neil too quiet for my liking this week,’ noted someone else. ‘My writer spidey senses tells me a twist is coming.’
James Norton has spoken publicly about his response to the ending, promising that it is rewarding, albeit challenging to see.
And while we all hope and pray that Catherine will be among the survivors, the reality is that not everyone will.
Happy Valley concludes Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
