Holly Willoughby has remained out of the spotlight after her dramatic leave from This Morning, but a pal has provided a concerning update.
Following the incident involving her co-star Phillip Schofield and a horrifying kidnap and murder plot, the 42-year-old broadcaster had a terrible year.
Her future as presenter of Dancing On Ice is now in doubt as she left the morning show after 14 years in a “difficult goodbye.”
According to the most recent court reports, security guard Gavin Plumb, 36, has pleaded not guilty to the accusations and has been granted bail.
While Holly remains mute, her longtime buddy Leigh, 50, has provided insight into his Celebrity Juice co-star’s mental health.
‘I don’t think she’s in a good place. She’s having a tough time,’ he told Sunday People.
Plumb was arrested on October 4 and appeared in court two days later, when the court heard that he had reportedly contacted a hitman in the United States to murder the actor and had weapons stored in his home.
His trial date is fixed for June 24 next year, with Holly sharing she had to ‘make this decision for [her] and [her] family.’
Leigh, better known as Keith Lemon, added: ‘I just text her? I don’t ask how she is, but I send her some messages to cheer her up.
‘I just go, “Hope you’re OK”, and tell her about things I’ve bought. Like, “I’ve just wasted my money on some Spider-Man Crocs, Holly? do you like them?”‘
He didn’t disclose any of Holly’s responses, but he did say he wasn’t sure whether she’d be back for the next season of Dancing on Ice.
The two become friends on Celebrity Juice over the course of 12 years, with Holly departing in 2020.
This left Leigh as the show’s sole original cast member, with the star admitting he almost departed with his pal.
Despite their tight connection, the two hadn’t seen each other in months by September.
He told MailOnline he hadn’t seen his pal since his birthday party in April, admitting: ‘The last time I saw Holly was on my birthday. I haven’t seen her since all the telly drama.
‘April was the last time I saw her in real life. Throughout all the telly drama, I just text people and go, ‘Are you ok?’.’
