I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Nick Pickard has thrown gasoline to the flames surrounding Jamie Lynn Spears’ departure.
The 32-year-old Zoey 101 star was the second campmate to depart the jungle ‘on medical grounds,’ while Nick was voted out by the public on Wednesday, joining Fred Sirieix and Nella Rose.
Despite suddenly quitting I’m A Celebrity, Jamie Lynn was back on our screens not long after, when she returned to the Dancing With The Stars finals in the US (having been ejected from the programme just weeks earlier).
She stated on social media that she “took the first flight as soon as I was medically cleared,” however Good Morning Britain host Richard Arnold has addressed the conspiracy theories surrounding her departure.
Speaking to Nick after his own exit, Richard said: ‘Jamie Lynn Spears was on Dancing With The Stars in September, she made it through to week two and was eliminated with her partner Ala, and then came Down Under to do I’m A Celebrity.
‘The Twittersphere, there’s a conspiracy going around online at the moment of how she managed to squeeze in two reality shows in one.
‘She then left the jungle on medical grounds, was completely clear to fly and has now ended up on the finale of Dancing With The Stars season 32, who would have the energy to be quite honest.
‘But nevertheless, as you can imagine, the Twittersphere has lit up with it, and I don’t know, we’re never in the room when they dot the i’s and cross the t’s with these contracts.
‘But nevertheless he has resurfaced and made it back to the finale so we know Jamie Lynn Spears is well.’
Nick then quipped up, talking about Jamie Lynn on two reality shows in just weeks: ‘Oh I don’t know, I wish I had her agent! Two shows like that, I’d be buzzing, I don’t know how she has the energy!’
Sceptical fans have had similar thoughts, with someone writing on X: ‘Hang on a minute. Jamie-Lynn left the jungle due to medical grounds and is now back on Dancing With The Stars in USA? So she just so happens to fall ill and leave in time for the DWTS final? Do me a favour!’
Jamie Lynn has promised that she would return to social media to reveal ‘everything about my adventure’ after leaving the jungle.
She wrote: ‘I can’t wait to share with y’all everything about this once in a lifetime experience, but I don’t even know where to start when trying to describe what an incredibly special time and place I had with some of the absolute best humans I have ever met and consider family now.’
Jamie added that she’d be ‘taking some time to recovery and spend time with my family’, while her sister Britney Spears was reportedly ‘disappointed’ by the move.
An insider said: ‘Britney is disappointed, but nothing surprises her anymore when it comes to her family’s unprofessional behaviour.’
The source went on to allege to DailyMail.com that ‘Jamie Lynn knew damn well going into this that all she had to do was last 72 hours and she was going to get paid. So that is what she did.
‘She never intended on staying any longer than this.’
The insider added: ‘Unlike her sister, Jamie Lynn does not see anything through to the end.’
Jamie Lynn did hint that she was ready to leave the jungle in numerous conversations in camp, and defended herself against rumours she was ‘the girl who cried wolf’.
She said on the show: ‘I think everybody had a rough day today, but I’m not crying wolf, I mean it very much.
‘I mean it, every time I want to leave, I have bad days, not everyday is sunshine and roses.’
