Ellie Leach has already managed to ‘break’ the Glitterball Trophy she won on Strictly Come Dancing just a few weeks after winning the title.
Ellie, 22, from Coronation Street, and her professional partner Vito, 31, won the latest season of the long-running BBC dance series last month.
Soon after, she disclosed the truth about the Glitterball Trophy, revealing that the winners receive tiny copies rather than the genuine thing.
However, it has now been discovered that the trophy she brought home was damaged and had to be repaired by her father.
Ellie is claimed to have been ‘devastated’ as the fragile plastic letters on the copy cracked.
Her skilled dad, on the other hand, was able to come to her rescue.
‘Ellie was gutted that she hasn’t been able to show off her trophy after so many of her friends are desperate to hold it,’ a source has said.
‘Luckily Ellie’s dad Al is good at fixing things, so she gave it to him to put back together.
‘It is her prized possession, and she can’t wait to put it up in the house,’’ they added when speaking to The Sun.
Following her victory, Ellie revealed on social media that she was nervous when she first went on Strictly.
‘I had no self-confidence or self-belief, and I was completely a glass half empty type of person,’ she explained.
‘Always finding the negatives in every situation, focusing on the lows instead of the highs, worrying and overthinking about every single thing, mostly things that were out of my control.
‘Signing up for Strictly, I knew it was going to be hard, I didn’t know how hard it would be. I knew I was going to have fun, I didn’t know just how much fun I would have.’
She went on to write that Strictly ‘changed my life’.
‘I’m now a yes person. This experience has taught me that giving your best is all you can ask of yourself, worrying about things that are out of your control isn’t going to stop them from happening,’ she explained.
The actress then said she was now ‘stronger, more resilient and more confident’.
Strictly Come Dancing is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
