Jennifer Aniston has debunked a fake social media myth by revealing what she and Courteney Cox ate on the set of Friends.
For ten years, they played major characters Rachel Greene and Monica Geller on the American comedy, earning numerous awards along the way.
In recent months, social media reports spread that Jennifer’s on-set diet for the comedy comprised of salad… and not much else.
However, Jennifer quickly dispelled those reports in June of last year, claiming that, while the social media salad looked lovely, she had never seen it before.
Now, almost a year later, the Murder Mystery 2 actress has divulged what she and her co-star Courteney ate in between takes on the hit show – and it’s not quite correct.
‘On the set of Friends, I had a cobb salad,’ she told Capital FM. I’m attempting to recall what was in it, but I think it had pecorino, turkey bacon, poultry, and garbanzo legumes.’
A salad with red onion, cucumber, pistachios, and a can of chickpeas went popular on TikTok last year and was reported to be Jennifer’s pick.
‘That’s not true, not my salad.’ she said in response to the viral footage. I don’t know where that has come from. It looks good, but it is not mine.’
When host Sian Welby pressed her further, Jennifer divulged what co-star Courteney Cox preferred to consume while they waited to shoot famous scenes.
‘She will make a sandwich and she’ll put mayonnaise, mustard, cheese, sliced chicken and Fritos. And then she rolls it all up.’
Between 1994 and 2004, the couple appeared in over 200 episodes of the comedy alongside David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and Matthew Perry.
When questioned about the viral salad during an interview with Elle Magazine last year, Jennifer said she felt terrible for putting a damper on the rumours.
‘I feel terrible because it’s literally taken off like crazy, and it looks like a delicious salad, by the way, but that’s not the one that I had on Friends.’
Jennifer acknowledged this week that certain parts of Friends’ comedy haven’t dated well, claiming that they should have ‘thought it through’ more.
