Jon Hamm has revealed details about his next Fargo role, including the truth behind his pierced nipples.
The Mad Men actor will play Sheriff Roy Tillman in the FX drama’s fifth season, which begins today, starring Joe Keery, Juno Temple, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Lamorne Morris.
After thrilling fans with his recent appearance on the Morning Show, he took the spotlight in the brief teaser, when he was seen lounging in a hot tub while being grilled by police, his pierced nipples clearly visible.
However, it turns out that the 52-year-old, who just married his former co-star, did not go under the knife for the role – rather, there was something a bit stranger going on behind the scenes.
According to Entertainment Weekly, he revealed the truth about the North Dakota rancher’s accessories while speaking at a screening and discussion, revealing that there was a ‘nippleologist on hand’.
‘I had to have some very blue latex put on my nipples,’ he said, via the outlet.
‘Then they cast a resoundingly lifelike pair of nipples, which they then pierced and placed over my own nipples, and we shot said nipples,’ he said, via the outlet.
‘The crew doesn’t get enough credit, but there was a dedicated nippleologist.’
Side note: Imagine your job title simply being ‘Jon Hamm’s nippleologist.
While Juno was left baffled by the effort behind Jon’s piercings, showrunner Noah Hawley wasn’t that fussed by the jewelry, adding: ‘We all live in Tiger King America.’
Season five of Fargo will premiere in North Dakota in 2019, with housewife Dorothy ‘Dot’ Lyon (Juno) thrust back into a world she “thought she left behind.”
After a weird kidnapping, she accidentally raises eyebrows with the police, resulting in tremendous drama, tensions, and intrigue.
Noah has already indicated that there would be more seasons once the current episodes air, stating that he is having a great time on site.
‘I’d be lying if I said this is not the most fun I have in my year making this show,’ he told Deadline. ‘I haven’t run out of ways to tell these stories.
‘Why wouldn’t I keep going?’
Bring it on!
Season five of Fargo premieres on FX at 10pm ET.
