Katherine Ryan is returning to Late Night Lycett after becoming trapped in a Birmingham waterway and missing her interview with Joe Lycett.
The Duchess actress, 39, was one of the first famous guests for the Channel 4 show’s debut last week, alongside new Great British Bake Off presenter Alison Hammond, 48.
However, the Canadian comedian’s big entry to the studio via boat did not go as planned, with the boat becoming unmoored.
Joe, 34, joked as Katherine travelled down the canal that she was going ‘further and further away,’ before divulging that there wasn’t enough time to squeeze in their scheduled conversation.
However, it appears Katherine has not been deterred by the uproar and will instead settle down with the former Great British Sewing Bee host on Friday’s new show.
Katherine will appear on Late Night Lycett alongside David Harewood, Rylan Clark, Greg James, and Daisy May Cooper.
Announcing the line-up on Twitter: Joe wrote: ‘UPDATE: We’ve managed to persuade @kathbum to return to the show this week to finally do her interview. Plus Daisy May Cooper, @DavidHarewood, @rylan and @gregjames! Live at 10pm this Friday.’
Let’s just say that Katherine is looking into different modes of transit to get to the studio this time.
Viewers, however, were in stitches over the mishap at the time, with one writing: ‘Cancel the awards, Katherine Ryan unexpectedly floating away in a boat from the moor in Brum wearing a fabulous pink feather outfit wins best comedy TV moment of the year.’
‘No way can Katherine Ryan be stuck on a barge drifting down the waterways by mistake this programme is total pandemonium!’ said another.
Late Night Lycett features Joe going through the week’s news events in his trademark manner, as well as having guests participate in activities and acts and giving the audience the opportunity to win rewards.
Every week, the programme is aired live from Birmingham’s institutions, and people can apply to participate in the game show by sending an application online.
Late Night Lycett continues on Channel 4 on Friday at 10pm.
