As the Loose Women panel addressed the forthcoming Coronation, Kaye Adams revealed she would find it ‘tough’ to bow to Queen Consort Camilla.
The public has mixed sentiments about the former Duchess of Cornwall becoming Queen Consort ahead of King Charles III’s Coronation on Saturday, May 6.
Camilla married Charles in 2005, with some blaming her for the breakup of his marriage with Diana, who divorced the future king in 1992.
Their relationship was reported to have ‘irretrievably broken down’ in 1986, the year the then-Prince of Wales began an affair with Camilla, resulting in ambivalent views towards the future monarch’s wife.
Strictly Come Dancing star Kaye, on the other hand, has confessed that she has other reasons for finding it ‘uncomfortable’ to bow to the Queen Consort.
‘How would I feel if she walked in here as a Queen and I had to curtsy to her?’ the 60-year-old asked on Friday’s Loose Women.
‘To be honest, I’d find it difficult.’
Asked if she would still do it, Kaye replied, ‘The monarchy, it’s there, it’s part of our history, etc, but I think if you’re bringing in somebody who isn’t part of that lineage, then I’m not sure.’
She added: ‘The whole entitlement and privilege, I do feel a bit uncomfortable with.’
‘I would do it, but I wouldn’t want to do it,’ Nadia Sawalha agreed.
‘I don’t believe that anybody is better than anybody else.’
This comes after Denise Welch stated that she will not pledge allegiance to Charles and would rather support Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
When asked if she’d be attending the public invitation to ‘cry out and pledge loyalty’ to the King on Saturday on Monday’s broadcast of the daytime show, Denise said, ‘What do you think? I don’t have anything against the Royal Family.
‘However, of late, I am pledging allegiance, if any, to Harry and Meghan. Because of that, I won’t be pledging my allegiance. I don’t even know what you’re pledging for.
‘I am loyal and would pledge my allegiance to my family, and that’s all. I think it’s very outdated. I’m just not a fan of what’s going on at the moment… I wish them all the best in their king and queen-ness.’
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
