Lorraine is in a bad way. Kelly had to rely on her own subtitles after losing her voice just hours before her live presentation.
On Thursday’s Good Morning Britain, broadcasters Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway were hesitant to ask the 63-year-old what was coming up on her show as they prepared for their normal handover.
Lorraine tweeted earlier this morning, ‘HELP! I’ve lost my voice – any remedies that have worked for you (and yes, I’m aware that some may argue that my inability to speak is a gift).’
She was later seen holding up a card, which read: ‘I’ve lost my voice [Dr] Hilary can you take over?’
Kate and Ben couldn’t help but laugh as Dr. Hilary warned viewers what to anticipate in today’s episode.
‘Lorraine have you been shouting at the Chancellor, is that what’s happened?’ Ben joked.
Kate added: ‘I don’t like the idea that female presenters are reduced to writing things on cards.
‘Ben will bring this in and we’ll be silenced Lorraine.’
She continued: ‘Let’s hope Hillary has the trick and she can get your voice back enough for the show later.’
Ben later quipped: ‘That’s going to be a thoroughly entertaining hour with Lorraine and no voice.’
Lorraine exploited her ailment to her advantage during her titular show, asking Dr Hilary about the best cures for a sore throat.
‘Half a pint of whiskey should do the trick, well you’d forget and have no voice at all?’ she enthused.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am and Lorraine also airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
