A first peek at Friday’s Love Island shows Maya Jama making a surprise comeback, and viewers are ecstatic.
Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Muhammad are on the rocks following a spicy kissing challenge, Kai Fagan has set his sights on Olivia Hawkins after moving on from Tanyel Revan, and more bombshells have dropped in than we could have ever wished for.
But, just like in the first week of this winter season, Maya is back – and she’s stealing the show.
In a preview for tonight’s programme, the 28-year-old enters the villa wearing a beautiful orange gown and proclaims, ‘Hello beauties! Surprise!’
They’re as surprised as we are when she tells them to congregate near the fire pit.
Is this a spectacular recoupling or a harsh dump?

Maya hasn’t been in the villa since the beginning of the season, and she usually only appears for recouplings and dumpings, so those islanders who are still flip-flopping and twisting their heads should buckle down and make strong decisions quickly.
She teased her return to the villa earlier this week in an Instagram post including Love Island: Aftersun backstage photographs.
‘Episode 2 of aftersun last night🖤 can not wait to be back in South Africa this week,’ the host wrote.
The film has already piqued the curiosity of viewers, with one saying, ‘Maya is so attractive I didn’t even acknowledge anyone’s conversation,’ and another, ‘The only intriguing thing about this Love Island is Maya.’
‘At least whoever goes home gets to fly back with Maya,’ another joked.
Other viewers are speculating whether a surprise twist in the competition could see Zara Lackenby-Brown back in the villa, with them expecting Maya to drop the shocking news.
In another scene, Shaq and Tanya appear to reconcile after their fight, as she tells him, ‘I’m just stubborn, so it takes a minute.’
Meanwhile, Kai is cracking on with Olivia, saying: ‘I wanted to kiss you out of a challenge.’
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
