Mae Muller has returned to social media after a brief hiatus, and she has a strong message for the haters.
The 25-year-old singer finished second to last in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Sweden’s Loreen taking home the medal for the second time.
After her defeat, she thanked those who backed her, saying: ‘What an experience just wanted to say thank you for all your support over the last few months, it’s been overwhelming.
‘Last night we didn’t get the result we had hoped for but I will remember the energy in that room forever!!! Can’t wait to see you all again soon, I had a f**king fabulous time.’
The I Wrote A Song singer then took a short social media break, but announcing her return on Twitter, she said on Wednesday: ‘I took a little minute off Twitter cos I was having a menty b but the b***h is back and it’s just the beginning.’
In response to a troll who wrote: ‘So glad you never won, you can now f**k off and go live in Spain,’ Mae clapped back with the perfect response.
She said: ‘Not going anywhere unfortunately for you bradders <3 enjoy hearing the song when you turn on your radio!! lots of love x.’
To one fan’s comment ‘Get him but also respectfully stop reading all the negative nelly replies’, Mae then said: ‘I know but you know me I gotta TROLL BACK ONCE IN A BLUE MOON!!!’
Meanwhile, welcoming her back to the social media platform, Eurovision presenters Rylan Clark and Scott Mills wrote ‘Welcome back bby x’ and ‘Yaaaas’.
Mae’s performance of I Wrote A Song garnered 15 points from the national juries but only nine points from the global televoting, giving her a total of 24 points.
It’s the fewest points a UK Eurovision artist has received since James Newman received 0 points in 2021 and Electro Velvet’s Still In Love With You received 12 points in 2015.
Nonetheless, according to the Official Charts, the track is predicted to reach number nine on the charts this week, which would give Mae her very first top 10 hit.
