A guest’s surprising admission has thrown Married at First Sight Australia into complete disarray.
On Monday’s opening episode of Season 10, Jessica Tomlinson approached newlyweds Bronte Schofield and Harrison Boon, revealing that she had dirt on the groom.
The 29-year-old bride-to-be was surprised to hear from a visitor who said she recognised her husband from when he was dating her friend.
She said to Bront, “I need to tell you something,” and went on to explain that she has a friend from Sydney who had really recommended Harrison to her.
She added: ‘She told me about this guy that’s going to go on MAFS and that she has been dating for the last month and a half… It’s him, it’s Harrison.’
According to Jessica, Harrison informed a mutual acquaintance that he intended to spend every weekend with her after the reality programme was over.
When the guest introduced themselves, Bronte responded, “No, no, you’re f***ing lying,” but Jessica later revealed she had a snapshot of the person on her phone.
‘That’s him,’ she said. ‘Yesterday, the day before the wedding, she sent me a picture saying he’s packing his bags. And he is about to go get married to someone on MAFS.’
She pulled out her phone and showed Bronte a conversation Harrison had with her pal.
Once Bronte had collected herself, she went to face him about the crazy charges, as she said: ‘I need to do this now. Like I need to, can I just go do this now?’
Despite Harrison’s initial denials of Jessica’s accusations, he subsequently revealed that, prior to filming, he had been “seeing” many women.
He said: ‘I was seeing a number of girls before I came into this. I’m a single guy in Sydney and I didn’t know if [the show] was gonna last a week, a month, the entire experiment…’
His counterargument was that he isn’t “in a relationship with anyone” and that he informed Jessica’s buddy that their relationship couldn’t go anywhere since he was “all in” on the programme.
He added: ‘I’m not in a relationship with anyone. They’re just people that I was seeing… I told her that I was giving this a hundred percent and it wouldn’t be right for us to continue.’
