Cher will be in the ballroom for the BBC’s spectacular Strictly Come Dancing final.
Sadly, she will not be attempting to hoist the glitterball with a Cha-cha-cha, but will instead be the featured performer.
Cher is said to be singing DJ Play A Christmas Song from her holiday album, which is exactly what Britain needs to get us all in the holiday spirit.
Perhaps when Cher has hung up her microphone, BBC executives might try to persuade her to don a pair of Latin heels and shimmy with Giovanni Pernice for the 2024 season.
For the time being, we’re content with the pleasant news that she’ll be singing. We honestly feel she’ll be fantastic, so we’ll all be going back in time and watching it on iPlayer over and again.
Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell, Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe, or Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin will be crowned 2023 winners on the special edition on December 16. However, just three couples will perform in the grand finale since one more couple will be voted out on Saturday’s programme.
The remaining four couples did not have to face a public vote to advance to the semi-finals since Nigel Harman had to withdraw from the competition with partner Katya Jones due to injuries.
While practising a Charleston, the 50-year-old actor injured his ribs. However, it will not be the last time we see Nigel, since the BBC has promised that he will return to the final. Who wouldn’t seize the chance to see Cher with both hands?
Traditionally, all of the couples who didn’t make the final perform a large group performance together to commemorate their time on the show, and this year is no exception. It is uncertain if Nigel will be able to perform or will simply watch from the sidelines.
Amanda Abbington also dropped out of the competition after only four performances, citing ‘personal reasons.’
California-based Cher has been a regular sight on British broadcasts promoting her Christmas tune, which led to her signing with Strictly.
at addition to sitting on Graham Norton’s sofa, she found herself on a date at a chicken restaurant for Amelia Dimoldenberg’s popular YouTube series.
As is customary with Cher, she delivered some memorable words that have since gone viral on social media.
Perhaps most notably, when asked why she hasn’t been heartbroken frequently, she said, ‘I’m attractive.’
Cher, please remain in the UK.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 7.35pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
