Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed further details about Kim Cattrall’s impending guest on And Just Like That…
The 58-year-old stated she was ‘upset’ about the cameo, but not because of any supposed consequences, but because the news broke before the show aired.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, she stated, ‘I couldn’t have been more unhappy.’
She believed that the cameo would surprise spectators, adding to the excitement, but the universe had other intentions.
‘Anyway, yeah. It’s a big bummer because it would’ve been so like fireworks in the middle, you know, and also because we want to make sure that expectations are real,’ she explained.
One thing that has been kept secret is the exact contents of the dialogue that will take place.

Sarah teased how the encounter between her character Carrie and Kim’s character Samantha will unfold.
‘Like it’s a little exchange that is happy and it says everything about their relationship and all the stuff that’s off camera,’ she revealed.
‘Like yeah, they’re talking. They talk all the time, and it comes at a significant moment of the series so…’

Kim, 66, initially declined to return for the Sex and The City sequel, but a phone call from a very influential individual persuaded her to return in a minor capacity during series two.
The actress recalled the pivotal phone call during an interview on American talk show The View: ‘It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, “What can we do?”‘
Kim decided that she wanted her part to be styled by original costume designer Patricia Field.

‘I thought if I’m gonna come back, I gotta come back with that kind of Samantha style, I gotta push it, and we did!’
Between 1999 and 2004, Kim portrayed the sex-positive character in the groundbreaking series. She then starred in both sequel films, first in 2008 and then in 2010, but was absent from the 2021 sequel series.
She recorded the appearance without the presence of any of the show’s other prominent performers, including Sarah [Carrie Bradshaw], Cynthia Nixon [Miranda Hobbes], or Kristin Davis [Charlotte York Goldenblatt].
