Amy Dowden of Strictly Come Dancing went to social media ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to make an appeal to her followers.
After being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, the 33-year-old professional dancer was forced to withdraw from this year’s event.
On Monday, she videotaped herself conversing and shared it on Instagram to raise awareness about the condition.
The actress donned a silk headscarf on her head in the video, having cut her hair off last week during her battle with breast cancer.
Amy teamed forces with Tenovus Cancer Care to promote the word and could be heard saying: ‘October, it is breast cancer awareness month, something very important to my heart since I’m presently having chemotherapy for my breast cancer.
‘I want to ask you guys a favour, please help raise awareness. There are too many of us suffering with this but also we need to get more people checking their chests.
‘Let’s make it a regular thing. It just needs to be once a month get to know your own chests. Please, please, please, let’s speak about it, let’s raise awareness – social posts, talk to your friends and family galore.
‘Please, please, please, let’s bring the community together. Let’s do all we possibly can for breast cancer awareness month.’
She signed off her message by adding: ‘I’m sending all my Welsh love always. Please keep checking!’

Amy made her video plea after returning to the Strictly set to see her old colleagues begin the new season.
She posted a set of behind-the-scenes photos to social media with the caption, ‘Tune in tonight for the first results show of the series!’ This year’s standard is crazy.
