The Walking Dead star Melissa McBride has teased future storylines for her character Carol Peletier.
The 57-year-old’s comments come weeks ahead of the zombie drama’s finale episode, after more than a decade on our screens.
While the original series will draw to a close, it has spawned several upcoming spin-offs which will delve further into key characters’ lives such as Dead City, focused on Maggie and Negan.
Another off-shoot of the post-apocalyptic series is also in the works following Norman Reedus’ character Daryl Dixon, which was also supposed to feature Carol.
However, it was confirmed Melissa had pulled out of the show in April due to filming commitments.
Although there is now no Walking Dead projects beyond next year to feature Carol, Melissa hinted there may be potential for more.

She told Entertainment Weekly: ‘I feel like Carol has more story to tell. I’ll leave it at that. I think she’s got some more story.’
When Melissa’s departure was announced from the spin-off, the new The Boys star Jeffrey Dean Morgan blasted Walking Dead fans for subjecting her co-star Norman to ‘toxic’ online abuse.

Jeffrey, who pays the villainous Negan on the show, jumped to Norman’s defence and called out the attacks on Twitter.
‘Some of you have gone WAY too far,’ the 56-year-old actor seethed.

TOXIC. Attacking norm for c**p he has NOTHING to do with? Melissa made a call that was hers alone. She wants/needs a break. Respect that.’
He added: ‘Factors involved that are nobody’s business. Norm, who’s given more than anyone to you all. Just S***TY.’
The Walking Dead is available to stream on Disney+ and Amazon Prime.
