Hotel Portofino is a new period drama on ITV that follows the Ainsworth family, who operate a hotel in fascist Italy in the 1920s.
The series was originally exclusively accessible for viewing on BritBox, but after proving to be a success, it will now be released on ITVX.
Matt Baker, whose previous work includes Channel 4’s Before We Die and Britbox’s Professor T, developed and wrote Hotel Portofino.
The plot revolves around Bella Ainsworth, whose ambitions to manage a hotel in Italy are derailed by cunning politicians and unpleasant customers.
Hotel Portofino also addresses marriage, widowhood, and the early aftermath of Italy’s First World War.
But when will it be accessible to watch on ITVX, and who in the cast will you recognise from previous TV shows?
When is Hotel Portofino on ITV?
Hotel Portofino was initially available to watch on BritBox about this time last year, when its first season (six episodes) was launched.
Those first six episodes will be made accessible on ITVX on February 3rd, a year after their first re-release.
The first episode will be released today at 9 p.m., followed by five more episodes every Friday night through March 10 at 9 p.m.
Who is in the cast?

Nastascha McElhone, who plays Bella Ainsworth, is the series’ primary character. McElhone is best recognised for her appearances in the movies The Truman Show and Californication.
Emmerdale’s Louis Healy takes on the part of Billy Scanlon, a hotel bellboy, while Small Axe’s Assad Zaman plays Dr Anish Sengupta.
Lucian Ainsworth is played by Oliver Dench. Dench is a relative newcomer to British television, having previously starred largely in American and Canadian programmes.
Olivia Morris plays Lucian’s sister, Alice. Morris was just cast in the 2022 Bollywood film RRR.
Louisa Binder plays Constance March, Alice’s six-year-old daughter Lottie’s babysitter, in her debut television appearance.
Will there be a season 2?

Season two will premiere on BritBox and ITVX later this year, with filming taking place during the spring of 2023.
According to reports, production is shifting to Croatia.
Many of the cast members have had more episodes added to their IMDb accounts, indicating that production on the second season is already underway.
In terms of whether there will be a third season, Hotel Portofino’s IMDb profile states that the programme will end in 2023. However, everything might alter again.
