Many Lorraine viewers were taken aback this morning when Dr. Amir Khan wheeled out a mock vagina and demonstrated pelvic floor exercises.
When giving a section on how patients may develop their pelvic floor muscles, the doctor may have had the greatest of intentions.
He began by discussing how common it was for women to have difficulties with this part of the body, and then he went through different methods they might strengthen it.
He added the exercises could be done while ‘making a cuppa or watching television’ and reassured that no-one was ‘ever to elderly to start’.
The presenter, on the other hand, was left in stitches as he began walking through his recommendations for what both men and women could do.
Dr. Amir removed his cardigan and was dressed in a muscular tank, ready for his workout, and instructed him to begin by standing with his legs apart, as he showed.
‘I want you to imagine you are in a lift full of the poshest people you have ever met and you want to pass wind, but you can’t.’ he told Lorraine.
Lorraine completely lost it at this moment and burst out laughing.
While she tried to follow his lead, she found it difficult to maintain a straight face as they went on.
‘Come on Lorraine you can do it,’ he gently encouraged.
Looking off into the distance she said: ‘I’m doing it, I’m doing it, I’m doing it.’

His next scenario had her on the toilet and passing pee but having to contain it.
Dr. Amir grew more encouraging as he saw he was losing her, describing how to go through this process and then rolling out the model vagina.
When the doctor advised ladies to’stick the thumb in the vagina’ to test their muscles, the chuckles resumed, and the doctor playfully told Lorraine off.
‘Stop it,’ he ordered, pointing down the camera’s barrel.
Many people watching at home couldn’t help but giggle at what they saw.

Others praised him for tackling the uncomfortable conversation.

Lorraine, on the other hand, made care to thank him for the vital health advise.
aine did make sure to thank him for the important health advice.
‘You have no idea how fantastic it is to have you talking about this, because people don’t Amir,’ she said as the segment wrapped up.
‘They don’t talk about it and think they are the only one, but this happens to so many people and both men and women.’
Lorraine informed him that she would be reporting back in three months after completing the ‘gym for your noony’, assuring him that she would be taking his advise to heart.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
