‘Why is Ashton Kutcher suddenly doing rom-coms again after 12 years?’, you might ask. Well, the man himself has the answer.
Your Place or Mine, starring Ashton, 44, and Reese Witherspoon, 46, will release on Netflix on February 10.
The film follows best friends Debbie and Peter, who live their lives in diametrically opposed ways.
Debbie finds comfort in regularity, while Peter thrives on variety, so they decide to exchange lives for a week to figure out what they actually need.
Of course, this is not Ashton’s first romantic film; he previously participated in classics such as What Happens in Vegas with Cameron Diaz in 2008.
Ashton has also appeared in Down to You (2000), My Boss’s Daughter (2003), and Valentine’s Day (2006). (2010).
So, you might argue that Mr. Kutcher is a rom-com king.
However, he took a 12-year hiatus from the genre, with his latest rom-com, No Strings Attached, starring Natalie Portman in 2011.
The celebrity, whose wife is actress Mila Kunis, had nothing but positive things to say about his current endeavour when asked why he has decided to make a comeback.
‘Honestly, I think I had more fun shooting this movie than I ever had,’
Ashton shared with Variety.‘It was genuinely a choice. I didn’t need to do it. I didn’t have to do it. It wasn’t like a career-building block. It was like, “I want to do this”.’

He also praised co-star Reese, saying, ‘I got to be in scenes across from a true movie star.
‘She’s such a movie star. It was so wonderful and fun and funny and light.
‘There was never a dark day. There was never a day that everything went wrong. I got spoiled.’
Despite being one of the most popular movie actors, Ashton has been somewhat quiet in the film industry in recent years, but has been quite busy with his investments.
Instead of spending time in front of the camera, the celebrity has focused on other projects, allowing him to amass a $200 million (£166 million) fortune.
In fact, Business Insider called Ashton the most active celebrity investor in Silicon Valley and, perhaps, the most seasoned tech investor in Hollywood in February 2020, citing his ability to increase every investment he’s made over the years.
When his acting career began to slow, Ashton invested his time and energy in critical causes, using his huge platform to raise awareness of child trafficking and sexual exploitation throughout the world.
He co-founded the DNA Organisation with his then-wife, Demi Moore, in 2009, and the name was later changed to Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children following their divorce.
He has aided almost 6,000 youngsters to far.
