On Monday, Dwayne Johnson announced that he would be starring in a new live-action remake of Disney’s Moana with the assistance of his children.
The 50-year-old performer informed followers of the joyful news by posting a promo video shot on the beaches of Oahu.
He described what it meant to him to appear in a story that emphasised his own culture and the places where he grew up.
Dwanye, also known as The Rock in Hollywood, started his announcement by informing followers where he was filming the clip.
The star uploaded his news with a lengthy caption detailing the transformation of the 2016 animation into a real-life movie: ‘Deeply humbled to announce we’re bringing the beautiful story of MOANA to the live action big screen!
‘This story is my culture, and this story is emblematic of our people’s grace, mana and warrior strength.

The box office smash earned Disney over $680 million (£548 million) and recounted the story of an adventurous adolescent who sought assistance from the mighty demigod Maui as she set ship on a risky quest.
