After her three-year-old daughter was sent to intensive care, Jamie Lee Curtis reached out to Hoda Kotb with a wonderful gift.
The Hollywood legend, who won her first Oscar on Sunday, came on the Today show this morning to discuss the star-studded celebration.
During the interview, the 64-year-old expressed his support for the NBC presenter and her family in the aftermath of Hope’s health emergency.
‘I was opening packages in my apartment last night, all the Amazon stuff that you get, and Jamie Lee, I opened a package and inside I saw two teddy bears and a beautiful My hand In Yours that you had given to my girls,’ Hoda explained, referring to the Everything Everywhere All At Once star’s charity, which raises funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
‘I realise it was terrifying,’ said the Hollywood legend in a message. This is for your daughters.’
‘I thought to myself, “In the middle of her brilliant time in her life, she is sending something to me and my kids,” the mother of two added.
‘And I can’t tell you how touching and how beautiful I thought that was. And I just wanted to say thank you.’
Jamie Lee, who was overcome with emotion throughout the interview, emphasised that she didn’t hesitate to reach out with the touching surprise.
‘You’re welcome! Listen, I get it. It’s the hardest thing in the world. There’s nothing scarier in the world than a sick kid,’ she replied. ‘That is why I made My Hand In Yours and that’s why I support Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, as you support your children’s hospital.
‘This is what we do, this is what they do 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. They show up for your family.
‘So, I was simply showing up for yours in the way I could.’
She is simply a queen.

Hoda previously had prompted anxiety from fans when she took time off from the Today programme last month, with Craig Melvin later announcing that she was coping with a ‘family health problem’.
When she returned, she explained that her time off was due to her youngest kid, Hope, whom she shares with ex-partner Joel Schiffman, being hospitalised to the critical care unit due to an unknown disease.
‘My youngest, Hope, was in the ICU for a few days, and in the hospital for a little more than a week,’ she told viewers.
‘I’m so grateful she’s home, she is back home. I was waiting for that day to come, and we are watching her closely. I’m just so happy.
‘You know what I realized too, Savannah? When your child is ill, the amount of gratitude you can have for people who helped you out.
‘I’m grateful for the doctors at Weill Cornell who were amazing, and the nurses. And I’m grateful for my family and I’m grateful to friends like you who were there every single day.
‘I want to say thank you for that. I love you.’
