Jeremy Renner has returned to see the doctors and nurses who saved his life following a snowplough accident.
The Hawkeyes star, 52, is extremely fortunate to be alive after being rushed to the hospital on New Year’s Day after fracturing more than 30 bones after he was slammed by and ‘dragged beneath’ the car.
It was then reported that the actor was hurt while attempting to stop his nephew from being hit.
Jeremy spent over three weeks in the hospital and has kept fans updated on his progress, whether it’s selfies from his ICU bed or footage of him riding his exercise bike at home.
In a lovely full-circle moment, the Marvel star returned to the team that cared for him during those perilous days.
Jeremy took to Instagram on Friday (April 14) after impressing employees at Renown Regional Medical Centre in Reno.
‘I got to revisit the amazing group of people who saved my life,’ he wrote alongside a snap of him with the medical workers, followed by several praying hands and red heart emoji.
The crew placed a ‘Welcome back’ banner on the screen for his arrival, which was a sweet gesture.
He shared another photo of him smiling next to a surgeon, adding a simple: ‘Thank you’.
Jeremy also posed with his walking cane outside the hospital, in front of the hospital’s sign.
The Oscar candidate made his first red carpet appearance since his horrible tragedy earlier this week.
He was greeted with cheers when he arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of his new Disney Plus programme Rennervations on Tuesday.
The Bourne Legacy star posed for photos with many members of his family before pausing momentarily to utilise his scooter to continue press interviews.
Jeremy recently revealed to Variety that he looked ‘a bit banged up right now,’ but that the programme was ‘propelling’ him to get better.
‘I set out a goal to be walking this carpet. And here I am enjoying it,’ he said proudly.
‘Otherwise it would have gone to an abyss with no date and lost traction and excitement and I would have been very, very, very frustrated.
‘I’m very excited right now because we’re here.’
Speaking about his plans to return to acting, he also told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘I’ll always be busy doing things I love to do.
‘I’ll be a little bit more focused on the things that really have value and matter to me… and I’ve got to appreciate my amazing fans because they end up loving the things that I do.’
Despite his severe injuries, Jeremy has said unequivocally that he has no regrets about what he did at the time.
‘I’d do it again,’ the actor declared during an emotional interview with Diane Sawyer. Because it was aimed directly at my nephew.
‘I chose to survive. You’re not going to kill me. No way.’
In the TV special, he also revealed that he was awake through ‘every moment’ of the crash.
Jeremy’s nephew gave his own story, admitting that he believed his uncle had perished while ploughing.
‘I just perfectly see him in a pool of blood coming from his head,’ he recalled. ‘I ran up to him. I didn’t think he was alive.’
Diane reeled off a list of his injuries, stating: ‘Eight ribs broken in 14 places, right knee, right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, the left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken.
‘Face, eye socket, the jaw, the mandible broken, lung collapsed, pierced from the rib bone, your liver. Sounds terrifying.’
When asked if he sees the same face in the mirror now, the Hawkeye actor added: ‘No, I see a lucky man.’
