The Grinch horror remake The Mean One dropped its trailer and offered fans a sinister insight into the gruesome festive fright film.
Butchering the sweet Dr Seuss tale of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, the silver screen’s latest scary movie released a glimpse of how much the story has been rewritten to suit a much more harrowing timeline.
Cindy Lou – in this case, Cindy You-Know-Who – made her suspected appearance but instead of loitering around in the sorting office, the pig-tail clad pre-teen watched on as a man in a green furry Santa suit murdered her mother.
Nicknamed The Mean One, the film documents the villain’s rise two decades later as he returns to Whoville on another killing spree just in time for the festive season.
The adult version of Cindy is then seen returning to the sleepy mountain town with a new goal in mind and sets about training for her mission to put an end to the green pot-bellied monster.
In a brutal showdown, the two opposing characters armour up to defend their right to a Christmas their way.

Cindy armed herself with what looked like a candy cane rifle and baseball bat with Christmas lights wrapped around it, gearing up to take on the hairy nightmare.
The upcoming scare fest was directed by Steven LaMorte and starred Krystle Martin as the adult version of Cindy You-Know-Who.

Set to make appearances in the weird twist on the classic are Chase Mullins, John Bigham, Erik Baker, Flip Kobler and Amy Schumacher.
David Howard Thornton was given the pleasure of taking on the ghoulish Christmas foe following his roles in the Terrifier franchise and stint on series Gotham.
Not the only Christmas nightmare to be hitting screens come December, The Mean One will fight it out for festive horror film of the year at the box office as a number of other Old Saint Nick stories got an horrific makeover.
Violent Night starring David Harbour aimed to terrify audiences with its story that follows a villain-slaying Santa Claus while Bloody Christmas transports viewers to the depths pf sci-fi hell as a murderous robot Saint Nicholas wrecks havoc.
The Mean One will land in cinemas December 9.
