Travellers landing in Florida were taken aback when Noel Gallagher initiated an unannounced mini acoustic show right at the baggage claim.
While other stars are jet-setting to Glastonbury, Noel’s aircraft landed at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, as he was there to perform at the Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa.
Being stuck at the baggage claim for a prolonged period sees to have put Noel in the spirit for some music, prompting him to take out his guitar to pass the time.
While waiting, the former Oasis lead vocalist, who has previously been headlining at Glastonbury, staved off boredom by strumming a few chords on his guitar – it’s unclear if he played their hit song Wonderwall.
From several pictures, it seems like the 56-year-old’s impromptu performance did little to impress the bystanders, as he appears entirely solo.
Noel shared his experience on his Instagram this Thursday with the caption: ‘Headlining Carousel 2, Palm Beach International Airport, Florida 🌴.’
Fans were thrilled with his low-profile jam session, with one stating: ‘I could have stayed there all night just listening to him playing that little guitar.’
‘Anyway, here’s Wonderwall,’ another fan joked, referring to a widely recognized meme created from the Oasis classic.
‘Fancy waiting for your flight ✈️ and the guy opposite to you starts strumming his guitars 🎸….only to realize later that it’s none other than the legendary Noel Gallagher,’ a fan exclaimed.
One fan mused: ‘I am curious to know how many passengers realized they were sharing a moment with a music legend. 🏆’
The flight passengers landing in Florida witnessed an unexpected mini concert at the baggage claim, when Noel Gallagher started playing his guitar.
Other stars were making their way to Glastonbury, but Noel’s plane descended at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, where he was to perform his scheduled event. Noel recently expressed his disappointment with his American audience for not reacting positively to his latest tracks, stating that they seem to be ‘standing dumbfounded’ while he is performing.
The British musician is better known for his Oasis classics, and the public’s persistent demand for him to patch things up with his brother Liam Gallagher.
After the split of Oasis in 2009, the Gallagher brothers, originally from Manchester, have been locked in an ongoing public argument, sparking hopes among fans for a possible reconciliation.
Liam, at the age of 50, tweeted his concerns about Noel’s recent actions, especially after ending his 12-year-long marriage, and asked his brother to contact him. The Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa was the venue for Noel’s performance.
Parked at the baggage claim for what felt like forever, Noel saw an opportunity to engage in a music session and proceeded to take his guitar out.
The former Oasis band’s frontman, known for his performances at Glastonbury, used his time by playing a few songs – it is still unclear if Wonderwall was one of them.
It appears from various images that the 56-year-old’s impromptu gig didn’t create a ripple among the waiting passengers, making him look utterly alone.
