After a long hiatus of seven years, the critically acclaimed drama Happy Valley, created by Sally Wainwright, returned to our screens with a bang for its third and final season.
It appeared as though no-nonsense Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) could finally relax now that the man responsible for the rape of her daughter, Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton), was behind bars.
Catherine was, of course, thrust directly into investigating a gangland murder when human remains washed up in a reservoir that is tied to her arch nemesis Royce. However, because to the fact that this took place in Happy Valley, Catherine was immediately thrust into the investigation.
On top of that, the astute cop was confronted with the news that her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) may visit his murdering father Royce in jail, despite the fact that he had previously put his life in danger.
Faisal (Amit Shah), a parent and pharmacist who has been selling medications without prescriptions, watched his family life flash before his eyes after he was threatened by local drug dealers. Faisal was selling narcotics without prescriptions. Another part of the village.
After viewing the exciting first episode of the concluding season of Happy Valley, here is everything that we want to know about what will happen next.

Who killed Gary and threw his body into the resevoir?
In the first few scenes, Catherine finds human remains at a reservoir, shortly after instructing a few forensic scientists on their respective fields.
Catherine is able to correctly identify the bones as that of Gary, a local thug, based on the teeth that were found in the body from a previous incident.
Royce, who is in incarcerated, gets caught once more for the homicide of Gary, who was killed around eight years earlier in a gang-related attack.

A remarkable St. Christopher’s necklace was located close to Gary’s skeletal remains, and it was one of the items that was taken from Royce when he was arrested for the first time on drug charges.
Royce later admitted in a statement that was presented by his attorney that he was present at the scene of the crime; however, he claimed that he was not responsible for Gary’s death and that he assumed he was there for ‘punishment’ rather than killing. Royce’s statement was read to the court.
He accuses Chris Huxley of killing Gary, but the officer’s reaction and Royce’s smirk as he is being carried away suggest that Royce may be playing a risky game.
Will tensions reach breaking point between Catherine and Rob Hepworth?
Educator Rob Hepworth, played by Mark Stanley, was first seen yelling insults at Ryan and his fellow students when they were playing football.
After getting into it with Ryan on the field, Rob proceeds to insult him by calling him a “t**t,” which is reported to Catherine, who does not appear to be very impressed.
After Rob called the police on his wife Ann Hepworth (played by Mollie Winnard) for taking narcotics without a prescription, Catherine had a second meeting with Rob, who was previously abusive.
The officer talks to Ann in order to get her away from Rob by informing her about controlling behaviour through coercion and offering her help for women’s shelters. The interview takes place.
Catherine explains that a horrified Ann rejected down her offer of assistance because she didn’t want to be separated from her children, but she promised to “make herself known” to Rob the next time she watches one of Ryan’s games. Ann’s children were with her at the time.
What’s next for Faisal covert drug operation?
Faisal, a local pharmacist, becomes unnerved when his customer Ann is detained for illegal possession of drugs despite the fact that Faisal was the one who supplied her with the substances.
After he had made the decision to put an end to his illegal activity, three thugs paid him a visit and threatened their life, as well as the lives of his two daughters.
However, the drug dealers do not want Faisal to stop since they claim he has been working on their patch and taking away their business. They do not want him to stop.

Instead, they want the father-of-two to carry on with dealing prescription drugs and feed all the profits back to him.
Faisal is faced with an impossible choice – but what will he ultimately decide to do?
Is Ryan visiting his father in prison?
It is strongly suggested that the young man has been sneaking into the correctional facility where his father is being held in spite of Catherine’s best efforts to keep Ryan away from Royce.
A member of Catherine’s staff informs her that he has been informed that a prison guard has spotted Ryan speaking to Royce together with a “guy and a lady.” Royce has recently been transferred from the prison in Gravesend to the one in Sheffield, which is significantly closer.

A shocked Catherine, who refuses to ask her grandson outright if the rumours are true, then asks him to look into the visitors’ book to see if there’s a record.
The episode ends with the officer telling Catherine he has some news and ‘she’s not going to like it.’
Who are the ‘man and woman’ taking Ryan to visit his dad?
Whoever has gone behind Catherine’s back and is travelling with Ryan to Royce’s prison in the knowledge that everything points to the covert visits being true should be held accountable.
The information that Catherine received from the jail officer indicated that Ryan was observed with a’man and a lady.’ This is significant given that individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to visit convicts on their own.
Who exactly are these two unknown individuals, though?
Happy Valley continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday at 9pm.
