Jacqueline Jossa has detailed her struggles with painful cramps in an upcoming ITV documentary aiming to start conversations around periods.
The former I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant, who was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2019, will discuss her own medical journey with menstruation and meet period influencers in Jacqueline Jossa: Me and Periods.
The hour-long special aims to destigmatize and end the taboo nature of the monthly cycle, with the ex-Eastender actor hoping to blow the cliff off the ‘shush’ attitudes to auntie flo.
The 29-year-old had previously spoken about her period on Instagram and in a recent post said ‘so so many’ had responded to her ‘sharing my experience of “hell week” once a month.’
In a short clip of the show, Jacqueline is seen driving on a countryside lane as she tells viewers about her experience with her time of the month.
Speaking to the camera, she says: ‘It’s embarrassing being somewhere in cramping up and having to physically bend over or pull up in a street because you’re having really bad tummy cramps.’
Toward the end of the clip, the TV personality is seen screwing her face up in pain as she recalls her cramps.

According to the NHS, period pain can be treated by painkillers, such as ibuprofen and aspirin, but if over-the-counter medication doesn’t work it advises speaking to your GP.
The government body states that some period pain, although it is less common can be caused by an underlying medical condition such as endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic inflammatory disease.

Other stars to have suffered with cramps include Lena Dunham, who underwent an elective full hysterectomy after suffering years of excruciating pain from endometriosis.
The condition had left her needing hospitalisation three times a year and she had undergone multiple surgeries to try and lessen the pain but to no avail.
Jacqueline Jossa: Me & Periods airs on ITVBe and ITV Hub on Thursday September 29
