Kim Cattrall has left the role of Samantha Jones, which she portrayed in Sex and the City, but her new programme has a connection to the revival of that film. And Simply That…
On June 22, both the second season of And Just Like That… and Kim’s new album Glamorous will debut.
Despite the possibility that this is a complete coincidence, it feels ironically like something Samantha Jones’s PR firm would organise.
Kim has previously stated that she was not invited to participate in the sequel. In 2010, she portrayed Samantha for the final time in the second film.
‘I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.’
The executive producer of And Just Like That, Sarah Jessica Parker, confirmed her story.

‘We did not ask her to be part of this because she made it clear that that wasn’t something she wanted to pursue, and it no longer felt comfortable for us, and so it didn’t occur to us,’ the 58-year-old told Hollywood Reporter.
Kim, who has previously said she’s never been friends with her co-stars despite their on-screen chemistry, explained why she made the decision to turn down a third movie to Variety.
‘It’s a great wisdom to know when enough is enough. I also didn’t want to compromise what the show was to me. The way forward seemed clear.’
Kim, 66, has also spoke about her relationship with Sarah and told Piers Morgan in her Life Stories: ‘I think she could’ve been nicer.’
‘There just isn’t anyone else who’s ever talked about me this way, so it’s very painful,’ Sarah said in response.
Fortunately, there are 24 hours in a day, so we can watch both (once we’ve completed work and done the laundry), and some of us may harbour a glimmer of optimism that the quartet will reunite in the future.

And Just Like That will feature the remainder of the original cast, including Sarah as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, and Kirsten Davis as Charlotte York Goldenblatt.
While Samantha may not return, the character Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett, will reappear.
Aiden was an ex-lover of the leading woman in the film and television series that chronicled the vicissitudes of the fashionable columnist.
In the newly released footage, Sarah as Carrie is heard saying, “I realised that some things are better left in the past, but perhaps not everything.”
In the first season, we were reunited with the women, and the focus was on ‘the actuality of life and friendship in their 50s.’ From Big’s passing to Steve and Miranda’s marital dissolution, it was quite a voyage.
The first season concluded with Carrie revamping her image and Miranda relocating to Los Angeles with her new lover Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), and viewers were eager to find out what transpires next.
Samantha’s absence was attributed to the repercussions caused by Carrie’s decision to employ a different PR team for her book.
The first ten episodes of Kim’s new series will introduce us to a new world and its cast of characters.
The Netflix series will feature Miss Benny as aspiring influencer and gender non-conforming queer person Marco Mejia, who lands a dream position with cosmetics mogul Madolyn Addison, portrayed by Kim. A dazzling voyage of self-discovery transpires amid workplace disorder and romantic obstacles.
And Just Like That… will be available to watch on Sky Comedy and . Glamorous will be available to watch on Netflix.
