Mo Gillian is returning to host the Brit Awards this weekend and he claimed one huge moment from last year’s show made him knew he’d ‘made it’.
The comedian will be hosting the massive event on Saturday from The O2 – or is it The Mo2? – in London, and he has reflected on his recollections of performing at the 2022 version.
‘I’m really pleased, dude, and I’m so proud to do it as well representing myself, my family, and my community,’ he said on Friday’s broadcast of Good Morning Britain.
‘But I think most importantly it’s kinda cool because you’ve got all these celebrities that you watched on TV, especially musicians. Last year, my opening link, Adele was laughing at my jokes!
‘Adele’s laughing, I’ve made it! I can go home now!’
Despite the star-studded night, Mo maintained he wasn’t overcome with anxiety before last year’s event, and that they only became apparent when he began to welcome Ed Sheeran.

He added: ‘When you get to actually do it and there’s 20,000 people – I wasn’t nervous until the camera came around and I had to introduce Ed Sheeran for his big performance.
‘I was like, “Ooh! This is a big deal!” But it’s amazing man, it’s a beautiful night of celebration of music, especially British music, and entertainment!’
Mo stressed that when it comes to preparation for such a large task, he has two alternatives – and they couldn’t be more unlike.
‘There’s two things,’ he laughed. ‘I either play loads of music with my friends and we have an absolute party in our little dressing room, or I just have a nap! It’s one to a hundred!’
He stated that his friends dubbed him ‘Mr. Saturday Night,’ making him the ‘ideal guy for the job,’ while anticipating ‘carnage’ this time around.
He teased: ‘We’ve got the tables back as well, so we don’t know what kind of carnage that could produce.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV1.
