For his role in the horror thriller A Knock at the Cabin, Rupert Grint had to adopt a Hollywood accent.
Ron Weasley, who plays Redmond in the M. Night Shyamalan-produced apocalyptic thriller, admitted to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning that he had to overcome his anxieties of both apocalypses and intrusions in order to take on the part.
A lot of pressure built up! To put it lightly, he made a joke.
The 34-year-old not only had to adjust to the trauma, but also to his new accent.
He said that he had tried American English before for the psychological horror film Servant, and that he was now “getting acclimated to” it thanks to his work with an accent coach.
‘You have to be careful of what you’re doing with your tongue in your mouth while you’re talking,’ he told Holly and Phil.
‘It’s very different.’
‘American people have a very different tongue shape in what they do with it, I don’t know!’ he added, as Holly and Phil chuckled over his choice of words.
‘It’s very technical!’

In other words, Rupert has shown interest in returning to his role as Ron from the first film version of J. K. Rowling’s works, in which he featured opposite Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe.
‘Yeah, I think if the timing was right and everyone was kind of coming back, I would revisit,’ he said.
‘It’s a character that’s important to me and I grew up with him – we kind of became the same person!
‘I feel quite protective of him as well. It was my whole childhood.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
