The latest Netflix thriller, Lockwood & Co., has us all worried about ghosts, The Problem, and losing sleep.
Lockwood (Cameron Chapman), Lucy (Ruby Stokes), and George (Ali Hadji-Heshmati), the protagonists of the Joe Cornish series, are a team of paranormally-sensitive ghost investigators.
There are a few hiccups along the way, but the younger agents work together to track down some of the most evil beasts that can murder ordinary humans and are haunting London.
Not persuaded by the teens’ professionalism is DEPRAC officer Barnes (Ivanno Jeremiah), and competitors like the Fittes Agency are out to bring Lockwood & Co to its knees.
But they’re all tied together by a common goal: solving The Problem. But what is The Problem, precisely, and when did it begin?
Here is everything you need to know about The Problem in Lockwood & Co.

A Lockwood & Co. supporter on Wikipedia claims that The Problem began around fifty years before Lucy joined the business.
It’s the name given to the nighttime, widespread hauntings and deaths in spirits that have swept England.
The government established DEPRAC to police the industry and keep tabs on The Problem after agencies were set up to eradicate the monsters.
Ghost-lamps are available for civilian usage in the event of a ghost attack, while operatives are equipped with magensium explosives and rapiers as the standard issue weaponry.
Detecting ghosts requires three distinct abilities—hearing, touch, and sight—and Lucy, a listener, may close her eyes and tune in to the spirit’s pain just by listening.
While agents with heightened sense of sight, like as Lockwood, might observe ghostly traces, those with enhanced sense of touch can experience the anguish firsthand.
Lockwood & Co premieres today on Netflix.
