Fans are already praising the return of Happy Valley, which has been off the air for the past seven years, for its third and final season as the best drama of the year.
On Sunday night, Sarah Lancashire made her return to the role of Sergeant Catherine Cawood for the first new episode in the final series of Sally Wainwright’s Emmy-nominated programme, and the episode was filled with a variety of exciting moments.
Catherine discovered the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir in the first episode, which leads her back to the murderer and rapist Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton). At the same time, Catherine’s grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) is going behind his grandmother’s back in an attempt to forge a relationship with his father Tommy.
When a neighbour is caught with diazepam in their hands, a local pharmacist finds themselves embroiled in a conflict with a rival group in another part of the valley.
There is already a great deal occurring, and viewers are undoubtedly looking forward with great anticipation to the subsequent episode to see how things go.
Now, in order to provide you with all the information you require, I will explain how and where you may watch the concluding series.
